Married 10 years to Karen, children Nehemiah-7, Hannah-5, both attend CFCA,  Moriah-3 and Jonathan-1.

Life verse:  Hebrews 12:1-2 “Therefore, since we are surrounded by a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and every sin that entangles.  Let us run with perseverance the race set before us.  Keeping our eyes on Jesus the author and perfector of our faith.”

My coach made a huge difference in my life and when I got out of college and into the real world I tried to do things for myself but all I could think of is how Coach Merrell changed my life…so I got into education!

Coach Theobald, returns to his alma mater (1994 graduate), where he played high school basketball. Beginning in 2001, Coach Theobald started coaching and has been part of multiple coaching staffs at CFCA. His coaching experience includes being an assistant boys and girls basketball coach for 5 seasons, assistant softball coach, and head softball coach. In 2010-2011 Coach Theobald was part of the softball coaching staff that took CFCA softball to the state finals. As alumni, Coach Theobald has vested interest in the CFCA Boys Basketball program and CFCA as a school. “When I attended CFCA and in the years to follow, our basketball program was a formidable and respected opponent. I intend on working hard at gaining that respect back from our opponents and the CFCA alumni and parents.” (Coach Theobald)

CFCA has also hired Mr. Matt Dowling to coach softball for the Lady Eagles. Coach Dowling has been a head varsity softball coach for eight seasons. During those eight seasons, Coach Dowling has compiled a 119-81 record, been 8-5 in the playoffs, won 2 District Championships, taken his teams to two Final Four appearances, and won one State Championship in Texas. Coach Dowling brings experience and a winning tradition to the CFCA softball program. Coach Dowling was recently hired at CFCA to teach Physical Education and work as Assistant Athletic Director. Coach Dowling and his family will move from Texas in July to begin working at CFCA. Coach Dowling stated the following, “I am extremely excited about the opportunity to serve as the head softball coach at CFCA.  It is my desire to continue building upon the success that the team has enjoyed in recent seasons.  My family is looking forward to becoming a part of the CFCA family.”

CFCA new Athletic Director, Monty Vann, is excited about both of these new additions to the athletic program.

 “Coach Theobald will bring passion and loyalty to the basketball program.  He was with the program through the thick and the thin and he has remained loyal to CFCA.  He knows and understands CFCA culture and the importance of Kingdom Athletics. Coach Theobald’s passion and drive will help make CFCA athletics a better place.

“Coach Dowling brings experience to CFCA in softball. Coach Dowling will continue to add to the excellence and tradition our softball program has had. Coach Dowling will work very hard in upholding the tradition at CFCA and he will be a fine addition to our school.

Welcome both Coach Theobald and Coach Dowling to CFCA. “Once an Eagle Always an Eagle!”

Eleven years in education, 2nd year CFCA

I am here at CFCA to teach students how to think from a biblical perspective and learn how to apply a biblical worldview to their daily lives.

Mrs. Furtado has spent 17 years working in the Orange County Library System. During that time her responsibilities included greeting, assisting, and directing patrons entering the library. Mrs. Furtado believes that her mission in life is to love children while teaching them to develop a love for reading and books. The Furtado family is no stranger to CFCA. Mrs. Furtado has been a parent at CFCA since 2006 with two children that have attended CFCA since that time. Mrs. Furtado has spent many hours volunteering in the library and classrooms around CFCA.

We are excited to welcome Mrs. Furtado to the CFCA staff and look forward to a smooth transition in the library over the next few weeks. CFCA is committed to maintain the excellence in our library that Mrs. Walker as established over the last 19 years. While Mrs. Walker will certainly be missed, we are certain that Mrs. Furtado will continue the tradition of excellence. Welcome Deanna!
