The foundation of any Christian School must be the Word of God. Athletics allow the student to develop and use his or her God-given ability to glorify God. We believe the life lessons learned in athletics help provide students with the necessary tools needed to live fruitful and victorious Christian lives. When winning is kept in the right perspective, our student athletes are allowed to develop without fear of failure. They learn to understand the value of praise, as well as that of constructive criticism. Therefore, athletics at Central Florida Christian Academy is considered an integral part of a student athlete’s high school curriculum.
COACHES AS ROLE MODELS
Coaches at CFCA become one of the most significant components of our athletic program. They have the responsibility to model Christ-like attitudes, behavior, and desires for our student athletes while under pressure themselves. One vital role of the coach is to work with athletes whose character, revealed under pressure, needs to become more Christ-like. In order to be considered an effective coach and role model, our coaches must also be thoroughly knowledgeable in their sport, capable of detailed preparation, able to motivate athletes, able to make adjustments during competition, and give meaning to each situation a team or individual athlete may face. Coaches have the great responsibility of molding young lives for Christ.
OUR PROGRAM
CFCA is privileged to provide students with a wide range of opportunities to use and develop their God-given gifts and talents. We field over 18 competitive teams in 9 different sports. Our student athletes participate in over 300 games during the school year. The program should build pride among the participants and support among the student body. Parents should be valued as partners in this process of athletic education. All activities within an individual sports program should exemplify the school’s commitment to a Christ-like witness, and reflect the school’s athletic departments, policies, procedures, and philosophy.
