Our Preschool Curriculum:

Bible -  Kindergarten Readiness Bible instruction explores the themes of God’s love for all of His students and the Bible as the source of all truth. Unlike secular preschools in Orlando, FL, daily prayer and daily devotions are complemented by weekly chapel services and service projects throughout the year.

Language Arts -  The language arts curriculum in our “Kindergarten Readiness”, or preschool, program develops a strong phonetic foundation, exposes the students to a wealth of developmentally appropriate literature, encourages and models strong language concepts, and develops early emergent skills. Students understand all letter-sound relationships and read common sight words. Learning phonics becomes a hands-on activity through sign language. Listening skills, picture and storybooks, literature and oral language activities are all used to develop comprehension skills, sequencing concepts, and recollection of details.

Unlike what’s offered in many preschools in Orlando, FL, our writing opportunities involve group oral experiences, interactive writing, writing workshops and journal creations. Vocabulary and knowledge of the world is extended to include words important to school work and daily life.

Fine motor skills are built and reinforced to encourage good handwriting development. Daily small group instruction meets children at their learning level and learning style. Cooking, art, music and creative activities support and extend the Kindergarten Readiness Language Arts program.

Math -  This activity-rich program incorporates manipulatives and movement. In our preschool, students develop math skills in the context of daily games, word plays and discussions. Major components of the curriculum are observational skills that involve making predictions, looking for patterns, seeing similarities and differences in things, graphing, calendar and measurement. The program encourages Kindergarten Readiness students to communicate about mathematics with confidence by understanding numbers concepts.

Science -  The Kindergarten Readiness preschool science curriculum allows students to explore God’s created world. The preschool curriculum develops the child’s inquiry and observation processes through hands-on experiments.

Social Studies -  In Social Studies, students learn their roles as members of a family, community and world. They grow in their understanding and appreciation of self, family, and others by exploring community activities, relationships, and their own identities.
