General Academic Philosophy

The mission focus of Central Florida Christian School, a college preparatory school in Orlando, Fla., is Educate, Inspire and Equip, encouraging individual development in students by inspiring them to learn, serve and to participate in the varied growth-promoting opportunities at the school.

Through a shared commitment to the school’s twin pillars, Academic Excellence and Spiritual Integrity, the school provides a strong sense of purpose which values teaching and celebrates learning. CFCA promotes a balanced preparatory learning environment that is traditional in design, but innovative in implementation. Intellectual development is advanced, requiring higher-level thinking and providing relevant learning experiences in all areas of study.

In partnership with parents, the faculty and administration at the Orlando-based preparatory school work closely with each student. Active learning strategies stretch students’ capabilities, engage their varied talents and add relevance for future reference and use. Each day, the CFCA Orlando campus is energized by the excitement of student learning. The dedicated teachers and the supportive preparatory school community are all centered on the success of each child’s educational and spiritual journey. Through coordination among the divisions, the Central Florida curriculum is designed so that each successive grade adds to the students’ mastery of skill and continued growth and development. Through the leadership of the school divisions, the headmaster and the assistant headmaster of academics, the curriculum is constantly reviewed and refined to ensure the best possible opportunities for CFCA students. The academic program prepares the students at Central Florida Christian Academy to succeed in college and life with a zeal for learning and an enduring love for our Savior, Jesus Christ.   

Central Florida Christian Academy History

Founded in 1973 as Pine Hills Christian Academy in Orlando, Fla., CFCA is a ministry of First Baptist Church of Central Florida and is a Christ-centered college preparatory school enrolling students from Pre-K through grade 12. CFCA serves as an ethnically diverse population of socioeconomic backgrounds and admits students from the 50th percentile and higher.

Central Florida School Divisions

Central Florida Christian Academy in Orlando organizes classes in three divisions: the lower school, middle school and upper school.

The Lower School at CFCA offers a nurturing environment and a challenging program for children from Transitional-Kindergarten to sixth grade. In the Lower School, parents and teachers work together on behalf of the children to maximize their learning and development.

The Middle School includes grades 7th-8th and offers a variety of academic programs and electives.

The Upper School at CFCA includes grades 9th-12th and integrates a college preparatory curriculum of high academic standards and Christian values and beliefs.
Central Florida Accreditations and Associations
CFCA is a member of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) and the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI).

Central Florida Student Leadership Institute

The Student Leadership Institute offers assistance for students in grades 7th-12th in developing the leadership philosophy and skills. The institute provides students with training the Biblical model of leadership with a core emphasis on service, evangelism, engaging the culture and church involvement. Additionally, the students are given hands-on opportunities to practice these leadership skills.
